Re: Use Product information (prodinfo, vrmlist, vrm) in DITA
One option is to create a DITA topic that includes the product meta information that you want to extract from the DITA map, like a version number, and include this topic on the first position, only in the WebHelp transformation. But the big drawback is that this topic would need to be updated for ev...

Re: Smart copy-paste
Oxygen 16.1 comes with a Java 1.7 virtual machine, while Oxygen 17.0 comes with a Java 1.8 one, which is not as able as the JVM 1.7 to extract correctly the clipboard content placed by the Excel application. So it is strange only in the sense that JVM 1.8 from Oracle has this unexpected regression (...

Re: Smart copy-paste
This didn't actually work, Sorin. Changed the DITA document type Priority to High, saved, then restarted oXygen and tried Smart Paste. No luck. I figured it out eventually: Microsoft Excel places badly formatted content in the Windows system clipboard, which can't be parsed as a well-formatted tabl...

Re: Smart copy-paste
The Priority for both extensions is Normal, whereas the Priority for the DITA document type is Low. Don't know if that's a problem. This is probably the cause of the problem. The document types that were added probably have no Smart Paste handler. In order to check this, please switch the DITA docu...

Re: Smart copy-paste
Our use case is actually to copy two columns of Excel data into an unordered list in DITA. In fact it would be only "half-smart," as for each row we want the two columns to collapse into a single list item. Is this possible? For example, could we use refactoring to accomplish this? Do you...

Re: Smart copy-paste
Hi, Using Oxygen Author 17.0. Ah! Out of curiosity I just tried the smart paste in 16.1 and it worked as expected. What is the name and version number of the application on the Mac OS X machine where you performed the Copy action? Was it Microsoft Office for Mac? In what Java version was the Oxygen ...

Hi Frank, I have a quick fix for you: please add the following XSLT template <xsl:template match="*[contains(@class,' topic/data-about ')]"/> at the end of the following XSLT stylesheet (before the </xsl:stylesheet> closing tag, of course): OXYGEN_INSTALL_DIR\frameworks\dita\DITA-OT\plugin...

Re: Editor variables in WebHelp footer files for DITA
The Edit Parameter dialog for the webhelp.footer.file parameter says editor variables can be used in the footer file, but it's not clear to me how to include them so they resolve. In the parameters dialog box if you click on the link associated with the text that says that editor variables are allo...

Re: WebHelp: Unwanted <data-about> output
Hi Frank,
The extra text comes from a bug in the DITA-OT toolkit which you can also experience in the DITA Map XHTML transformation. I will come up shortly with a workaround, or better with a fix for this DITA-OT issue, and I will update this topic as soon as I have the solution.

Re: webhelp: wrong order of script and meta tags
Hi Tristan,
You are right, the meta tag with X-UA-Compatible should come before any JavaScript or CSS code. We will correct that in the next maintenance build of of Oxygen 17.0.
Thank you for letting us know.

Re: Issue with SVG DTD validation with XEP/Oxygen (Dita sour
For now, I have commented out the doctype declaration in the svg files, but for the same reasons as Annetteb, I'd like to find a clean fix instead. Adding the two sysproperty elements at the end of the ANT task that runs the XEP processor should be enough, since the resolver.jar is already in the c...

The hash characters (the #'s) should not be removed from the address of the WebHelp pages and from the links to other WebHelp pages. Google will index properly the pages that have a # in the address if you override in your custom Google Analytics code the default page value by adding a call like thi...

Would this be correct? -Dargs.hdr.file=%DITA_MAP_BASE_DIR%\header.txt It wasn't clear if the header file needed to be a XHTML file, which I can try as well. args.hdr is a DITA-OT parameter . The value of this parameter should be...

Re: WebHelp - File Refeence links open in target="_blank"
Hi, It is a DITA-OT issue. You have to declare your file types ( .docx , .xlsx , etc) as binary resource file types in DITA-OT by extending the dita.resource.extensions DITA-OT point, by adding a custom plugin . The .pdf file type is already is declared as a binary file type in DITA-OT, this is why ...
