Latest update breaks MultipleInstances
Post by martindholmes »
I like to run multiple Oxygens in different workspaces on Linux, and I've been able to do that up to now by adding:
-Dcom.oxygenxml.MultipleInstances=true\
to the "set" clause in oxygen.sh. However, after today's update to 2021082307, that no longer works; trying to start a new instance just pushes me to the existing one. Has something changed, and I now need to set the variable in a different way, or is this just a bug?
Thanks,
Martin

Ah! Figured it out. The update had overwritten my oxygen.desktop file so it was no longer calling oxygen.sh.
It would be nice if there was a way to set this configuration and have it persist through updates.

Hi Martin,
I'm glad you found the solution for this, I will add an internal issue to provide this setting as maybe a global setting in Oxygen but I cannot guarantee a time line.
How about if you create your own custom shortcut to Oxygen on your desktop? Does the update remove/modify that as well?
Regards,
Radu
