Drag and drop selected text not working in Eclipse 3.3

Post by steamer25 »

When I open most editors in Eclipse 3.3, Eclipse's own drag and drop support allows me to drag selected text. :)

oXygen 9.1 standalone will also allow me to drag selected text. :D

However, when I use oXygen 9.1 as an Eclipse 3.3 plugin/editor, I am unable to drag and drop text.

Any ideas? :?

Hello,

I also use Eclipse 3.3 and when I open a file with an editor contributed by the Oxygen 9.1 plugin I can drag the current selection of the editor window and drop it to other location of the editor window without problems. When I start the drag on the current selection Eclipse changes the mouse pointer in the same way as in an Eclipse editor. Does Eclipse change the mouse pointer to the drag pointer when you start the drag? If not please specify the Oxygen build number displayed in the Preferences dialog (menu Window -> Preferences -> oXygen) and the build number of Eclipse displayed in the About Eclipse dialog (menu Help -> About Eclipse).

Pointer is ever set to the text selection i-bar.

Eclipse Build: M20080221-1800
oXygen Build: 2007122116

That is strange, I have the same build numbers and drag and drop in the Oxygen XML Editor works correctly. If I start a drag on the current selection in the editor panel the mouse pointer changes to the drag pointer (a small rectangle under the arrow that indicates the mouse pointer) and the selection is moved where I drop it. Is the file opened on your computer with an editor contributed by the Oxygen plugin? I tried with Oxygen XML Editor, Oxygen XSL Editor, Oxygen XSD Editor, Oxygen RNG Editor, etc. and drag and drop worked correctly. What is the editor that you use? Where do you try to drop the current selection?

What is the name and version of your platform (Windows, Linux, etc)?

Thanks for the help. Not sure what happened but after a couple days of not working, it started working for no apparent reason :p .
