Using Web Author with the Built-in WebDAV Server

Oxygen XML Web Author includes a built-in WebDAV server that contains various sample documents stored in a file structure on your local computer in the following directory: [WEB_AUTHOR_INSTALL_DIR]/tomcat/webapps/oxygen-xml-web-author/webdav-server. Assuming the WebDAV Server plugin is enabled in your installation of Oxygen XML Web Author, the sample documents can be found in the Samples tab on the Web Author Dashboard.
Important: The built-in WebDAV server is included for evaluation purposes only and should not be used in production. You can disable the server by disabling the WebDAV Server plugin.

Opening or Creating Files

To open one of the sample files, go to the main Dashboard and go to the Samples tab or the WebDAV tab, browse for the document, and double-click it (or tap on a mobile device). To create a new document, go to the WebDAV tab and click on New in the top-right corner.

Tip: If a file is not already in your repository, you can use the Upload File button to upload it before selecting it. You can also drag a file from your system file browser and drop it into the Web Author file browser.
