[oXygen-user] XInclude and Entities

Hi Sean,

I guess the problem is because that is an external entity. You can use
entities in attribute values but those should be character entities.

So the following will be valid:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE test [
 <!ELEMENT test (#PCDATA)>
 <!ATTLIST test sample CDATA #IMPLIED>

 <!ENTITY val "someValue">

]>
<test sample="&val;">

</test>

while the following will report the same error you quoted:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE test [
 <!ELEMENT test (#PCDATA)>
 <!ATTLIST test sample CDATA #IMPLIED>

 <!ENTITY val SYSTEM "test.xsd">

]>
<test sample="&val;">

</test>

Best Regards,
George
